Severe Weather Help
As temperatures drop, FUSION’s Severe Weather Shelter offers a warm, safe place for individuals and families who have nowhere else to go. This winter, we’re seeking caring volunteers to help keep our shelter running smoothly and our guests supported.
Due to the unpredictable PNW weather, our severe weather activations are typically short-notice. Registering as a Severe Weather Volunteer will add you to our on-call list. When we activate for severe weather we will reach out and confirm your availability.
Volunteer Opportunities
Food Prep Volunteers
Prepare, plate, and serve hot breakfast and dinner meals. No professional experience needed—just a willingness to help and a compassionate heart. We have both morning and evening shifts available.
Cleanup & Housekeeping Support
Help tidy common areas, sanitize surfaces, support laundry or bedding tasks, and assist with end-of-shift cleanup to keep the shelter safe, clean, and welcoming. This shift will be in the morning/early afternoon.
Guest Services & Support
Welcome guests, monitor shared spaces, and assist with safe access to designated areas (such as restroom escorting). Volunteers help maintain a calm, respectful environment for everyone. This is an evening shift.
Short on Time?
If you’re unable to volunteer, please consider making a financial donation. Your support helps us provide warm meals, safe shelter, and essential resources to families and individuals in crisis. Donate here.
Shift Availability
Breakfast, Dinner, and Evening Support during severe weather activations (typically November–March). Flexible scheduling available.
Your time and care provide more than food or a clean space—you help create safety, dignity, and hope for community members during the harshest weather.
Thank you for helping ensure that no one faces severe weather alone.
